Dirt is a type of block that can be found everywhere under grass blocks. Using a take, you can make a type of dirt that is suitable for planting plants on, which is called soil. It is not very good for building, but it's very easy to obtain, so it's a practical material when starting a new map. Currently it is not present in any crafting recipes. It has the same digging resistance as sand and grass.
